Goals

The results obtained from EKOBI and EKOGI show that there are currently more and more companies trying to minimise their environmental impact, focused on identifying the waste generated and trying to self-handle the waste that can be given value using their own resources and waste handlers. However, they do not view industrial symbiosis as an attractive option, and the main cause lies in not knowing the benefits, which are mostly economic, that that practice may bring them.

• A quantitative tool for economic-financial calculation of the practical costs and benefits of industrial symbiosis, to facilitate decision-making in that direction and promote raising awareness about it
