Every October 24th is celebrated as Libraries Day and REBIUN (Network of University Libraries) has presented a video highlighting the role of university libraries.
REBIUN presents the video "Hablamos de bibliotecas universitarias" on the occasion of Libraries Day.
The video highlights the role of university libraries, their capacity to face new challenges, some key figures, support services for open science and learning and teaching processes, the richness of their physical and digital collections, their role in preserving and disseminating bibliographic heritage, spaces for individual and group work, and their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
REBIUN are... 75 universities, 662 Libraries, 1 National research network, 5,858 professionals, 2,000,000 users...
The role of libraries is fundamental to guarantee access to scientific information, increase the visibility of institutional collections and support learning, research and knowledge creation processes, among others.
Creation and collaboration, Biblioguides, Recommended bibliographies, Open educational resources, Digital competences, Academic works and Theses, Open Science, Collections (books, journals, old collections)... We are in charge of preserving and disseminating the bibliographic heritage.
The Collective Catalogue of the REBIUN University Library Network is a unique catalogue made up of 95 libraries, more than 34 million bibliographic records and more than 5.5 million searches per year.
