FOOTPLASTIC Monitoring Corporate Plastic Leaks

Goals

FOOTPLASTIC aims to develop a methodology and technological infrastructure for the identification and monitoring of 'hot spots' of industrial technical plastic leaks along the value chain. This project also aims to address the generation of new technical composites recovered from collected post-industrial plastic waste. FOOTPLASTIC will therefore address the challenge of developing an effective initiative to tackle plastic pollution in a systemic way in the Basque industry, favoring the valorization of plastic materials through their reintroduction into the manufacturing industry.

  • Acquisition and Generation of New Knowledge in terms of production processes and plastic recovery, new models of circular economy, integration of technology for the monitoring of industrial technical plastic leaks, certification of revalorization processes, etc...
  • Definition, Design and Configuration of an Integral, Innovative and Differential Value Proposition for the industrial sector and the plastic waste management and recycling sector regarding the use and application of technologies associated with Intelligent Monitoring, Business Intelligence and Blockchain associated with plastic leakage monitoring.
  • Exploration and selection of technological Supports (hardware and software) and the technical and functional specifications to be implemented in the configuration of an industrial solution for monitoring and prediction of plastic leakage in the value chain. 
  • Design and development of the FOOTPLASTIC platform that incorporates its own functionalities linked to the measurement, monitoring and prediction of plastic leakage in the value chain linked to the development of intelligent waste management, circular economy, life cycle of raw materials, etc... as well as automated management of infrastructure services, data sharing between companies, Machine learning or automatic management of Smart Contracts.
  • Generation of new technical composites recovered from post-industrial plastic waste by applying the latest mechanical-based recycling techniques.
  • Dissemination of the results of the FOOTPLASTIC project: Communication and dissemination of research results.
  • Protection and Commercial Exploitation of the Project results: Planning and establishing the exploitation and commercialization strategy, as well as the gradual internationalization process of the tools and solutions developed in the course of the FOOTPLASTIC Project.
