There is a clear need for a better understanding of the origins of the main plastic discharges that make up the plastic footprint of a territory, as well as more precise knowledge about which actions will have a greater impact on minimising them. Taking on plastic pollution is an urgent necessity taking into account the growing level of plastics that end up in the environment (in other words “discharges”), and the effects on ecosystems.

• A tool for analysis and categorisation of plastic footprint calculation methodologies and their degree of applicability in Gipuzkoa at different scales (polymers, products, companies, value chain, territory, etc.)
